Laura Carter, a Hardiman scholar, is studying a PhD in economics under the supervision of Professor Eamon O’Shea at NUI Galway. Her PhD research examines the economic costs of dementia. Laura completed both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at NUI Galway, graduating from the university with a master’s degree in health economics. Laura’s primary research interest is in health economics, having previously worked on research in the areas of wound care, obesity and dementia at NUI Galway.
